The Coronavirus is affecting everyone and we live in extraordinary times where football has to take a backseat as we seek to stay safe and support our NHS to get us through.
We are working hard to understand what the shutdown means for the Club. The Club will be losing income from match day revenue and event hire, whilst there will be some savings on pitch hire and match day costs.
We are seeking to minimise our outgoings at every opportunity and keeping a close watch for any funding or grant opportunities that may be available.
At the start of the season a key objective was for the Club to be run on a stable and sustainable basis. This is proving to have been the right decision as our relationships with our stakeholders continue to improve. We have offered the clubhouse as a community asset to the Council as it puts together its emergency planning for dealing with Coronavirus.
The 2019/20 season has also been one of stability on the football side as we come to terms with life in the Division 1 of SCEFL with results and points on board and what would have been a cup semi-final to look forward to.
We have been the victim of 3 break-ins over the last 12 months and the damage and loss to the clubhouse has been substantial. The determination of all the Club members, sponsors, volunteers and supporters has been fantastic in ensuring the Club can keep going.
Running the club as a true community club has enabled us to attract sponsors and their support has been invaluable as we seek to get the Club back on its feet. A big thank you to them.
Lastly, we want to thank our loyal band of supporters and volunteers. You have stuck by Croydon FC through thick and thin and I hope that you are proud of how things are developing on and off the pitch.
So this is where you come in. We are committed to the future of Croydon FC but now more than ever we need your help to continue our journey.
The shutdown will mean that any financial reserves will be used to keep the Club going as we have no
income. We would be delighted to hear how you think you could help us and any suggestion would be welcome. We already have people offering to buy season tickets for next season and to be match ball sponsors, for which we are very grateful. We do realise as we said at the beginning that these are hard times for everyone.
