We are some weeks into the lockdown and so as we start May below is the latest update (No 6) regarding the Club’s ‘Battle plan to survive’
The NHS and carers continue to do an amazing job and we hope you are all doing your bit by keeping safe. Season ticket holder Nilu Davis is an NHS worker and has been working on some Covid -19 testing clinics. Thank you Nilu and everyone for all that you are doing.
We were sad to hear of the passing of Peter ‘The Cat’ Bonetti and more recently Michael Robinson who apparently was Vice Chairman of the club back in the early 90’s.
We are delighted to report that the Council has renewed the fence alongside our Ryland’s boundary, we have sent our thanks to the Council.
We mentioned that we have made various bids for grants and we can report that Sport England have awarded a grant to help us pay our utility bills, we were not successful in a grant for new external CCTV coverage but we will be seeking other avenue’s to secure this.
Jason Casey (social distancing observed) has been busy clearing the bank and ramp at the front of the clubhouse in readiness for improving this area.
The GoFundme page (www.gofundme.com/f/croydon-fc-clubhouse-repairs-amp-security?) set up by Liam Blencowe remains open for those who wish to donate and the amount raised is an amazing £870 – can we get this to £1000 ? Don’t forget we are always happy to hear of ways of raising income for the club – so please get in touch with Liam Blencowe if you have any ideas.
The introduction of season tickets last season was an excellent way of showing your support for the club and we plan to do this again once we know where things stand with the league etc.
Liam Giles informs us he has nominations for ‘players player, managers player, and supporters player of the season 2019/20 and let’s hope we can arrange a presentation event when it is safe to do so.
The Women’s and Sunday team, like us all, are all looking forward to getting back on the pitch again when it is safe to do so.
Keep safe everyone
