A disallowed goal in the 88th minute meant Croydon finished 2nd in the SCEFL Premier Division table rather than top. Nathan Campbell's header was disallowed after an off the ball incident spotted by the referee. Overall though, Croydon had a good game. Croydon had a number of free kicks to start off with, Stephane Bombelenga's was blocked by an opponent, Jamie McGeoghegan had one which eventually led to a goal kick for Crowborough. Matt O'Donoghue crossed towards the midfield, only to be cleared by an opponent. It took 15 minutes for Crowborough to get a free kick, which went past Marcus Campbell but a Crowborough shot went to Alex Hewitt. Lauris Chin came close to scoring, his shot deflected off a defender only for the ball to end up in Dan Ellis' hands. Chin then had only Ellis to beat but Ellis got to the ball first clearing it. Then Jeff Duah-Kessie made a run and his shot went straight to the keeper. Time for Hewitt to do some work and he was able to punch out a cross from Tom Phipp. O Donoghue thought he'd take a chance and a long punt towards the keeper landed just in front of him. Another free kick came for Croydon from McGeoghegan, to Duah-Kessie who crossed to James Fotheringham whose header went in giving the Trams the lead and Fotheringham the distinction of being the first player-director to score. Croydon were threatened by a chance just before half time. Although the shot landed just wide of the far post, it was so close to the goal it hit Hewitt's water bottle!
The second half was played in a heavy downpour, but both sides persevered and carried on regardless. Four minutes into the second half and Crowborough equalised from a direct free kick from Zac Attwood. Then Croydon regained the lead three minutes later after a header from Lauris Chin. Croydon almost extended the lead when Duah-Kessie hit the crossbar, However, Crowborough equalised in the 62nd minute with a header from Tom Phipp. There was a lively ending to the game. Crowborough's Sam Carrington had a shot that ended up wide of the post. Fiden Fejzi made a valiant attempt to score despite being heavily marked with opponents all around him, Having gone around one opponent, Duah-Kessie had a shot blocked by another opponent. Marvin Armstrong then hit the side netting. Then Campbell's goal was disallowed. Croydon then had two last chances to win the game when Duah-Kessie had a shot which deflected off a defender and went over the bar. The last chance came from Bombelenga, whose free kick went way over the bar before the referee blew the whistle for full time.
