Croydon 4 Rusthall 1

Andy Somo made his debut in this match and scored after 4 minutes with a promise of "more goals to come." Describing his goal. he said "The goal I scored was a weird type of goal as the defender came towards me to clear the ball and then (the) ball hit me in the face and (it) went in." Then Stefan Josephs, who made his Croydon debut at Rusthall's local rivals Tunbridge Wells earlier in the week, also scored. A run down the right from Fiden Fedzi, he crossed to Josephs who headed the ball past goalkeeper Callum Christie. Christie then let in his third goal in 15 minutes when Aiden Brown crossed from inside the box. There was an attempt from Matt Weller who volleyed the ball straight to Christie after a corner, then on 28 minutes Rusthall got their one goal when Jacob Wright's cross from the left went past Croydon's keeper Alex Hewitt. At the other end, Fedji had a shot pushed out by Christie, which was followed by a chance from Brown that was saved by Christie. Another player. Lolu Ojo made his debut, replacing Brown, but only lasted 13 minutes before he was knocked out with concussion.

Croydon could have extended the lead three minutes into the second half when a shot hit the near post before Rusthall quickly cleared the ball. There were a few chances for Croydon. Marvin Armstrong had a shot saved by Christie, Lauris Chin had a couple of passes, one to Josephs, where the shots ended wide of the post. Then Croydon definitely put the game out of reach of Rusthall when in the 78th minute, a cross from the right and Armstrong's shot went past Christie. Croydon now meet Crockenhill in the next round of the Kent Senior Trophy.
