Croydon are through to the next round of the London Senior Cup buoyed by the away support that cheered the Trams on. Beckenham had possession early on, but Croydon more than made the most of their possession, certainly in the first half. An early pass from Lauris Chin went to Stefan "Smasher" Joseph whose shot went wide. Smasher had another attempt, on target this time, but saved by Josh Gonzales. Smasher hoped to be third time lucky, after Fidan Fejzi kept the ball in play, he passed to Joseph whose shot was again saved by Gonzales. Croydon were lucky not to concede the first goal when Rio Davidson-Phipps gave the ball away, and Beckenham were unlucky that their chance hit the crossbar. Croydon then took the lead when following a pass from Marvin Armstrong, Fejzi hit a blinding shot past Gonzales on 32 minutes. Both keepers were kept in check, Alex Hewitt tipped a Beckenham chance over the crossbar, then Bradley Wilson passed to Rio Davidson-Phipps whose shot went straight to Gonzales.
The first chance of the second half came from Fejzi, trying to get around an opponent only for his shot to be saved by Gonzales. Later on came a through ball from Jamie McGeoghegan towards Matt O'Donoghue, but his shot went straight to Gonzales. Beckenham had an equaliser disallowed for offside and was their only chance of note. After a few wayward shots, Andy Somo missed the chance of a second Croydon goal with an attempt that had he controlled it and gently tapped in might have gone in, instead his powerful shot was kicked out by the keeper. Croydon's second goal did come with three minutes to go courtesy of Sam Johnson, who bundled the ball into the net. And for good measure, and with a minute to go, Marvin Armstrong's little dink over the keeper made it 3-0 to the Trams, who are through to the next round of the London Senior Cup.
