Croydon were very close to gaining three points which would have put them top of the table, but for a goal from Sheppey that took place four minutes into stoppage time. An early chance saw a good free kick from Bradley Wilson, and Jamie McGeoghegan's header went wide of the post. A free kick from McCeoghegan followed by a the taking down of Lauris Chin was saved by Sheppey's keeper Josh Glover. Matt O Donoghue's first chance was a cross towards goal that was intercepted by a Sheppey defender. Then on 17 minutes O'Donoghue put Croydon in the lead, with a header past Glover. Croydon hoped to extend their lead in the first half, a Wilson shot was caught by Glover, whilst Lauris Chin had a shot going wide of the post.
The second half saw Sheppey have a better second half, with Alex Hewitt having to make a save whilst another Sheppey chance went wide. For Croydon, a Stefan Joseph chance went high and wide of the goal. For a few moments in the middle of the second half came a flurry of chances from Chin and Joseph only for Sheppey to get one back in the 77th minute. It was looking like a draw with both Croydon and Sheppey having possession but Croydon regained the lead in the 85th minute as O'Donoghue scored his second brace in two games. A minute before the final whistle blew, Croydon lost their concentration and four minutes time into stoppage time, Tom Brunt scored the equaliser for Sheppey.
