Croydon went to Deal and managed a draw against Canterbury City's experienced and physical side. The game saw Amadu Tangara, signed from Dulwich Hamlet, make his debut in goal for the absent Alex Hewitt. However it was the Trams who took the lead when after a throw in, and a pass from Andy Mott, Bradley Wilson put Croydon in the lead after only four minutes. Canterbury responded after 21 minutes, when Jamie McGeoghegan headed the ball back softly to Tangara, but then Matt Martin nipped in to equalise. Canterbury then led on 41 minutes when a good cross from Gonzalez Bello eluded Croydon's defenders and Sam Lawford's volley went past Tangara.
When Marvin Armstrong came on for the injured McGeoghegan in the second half, he made a difference. Minutes after coming on, he made an assist to Lauris Chin, who equalised after 68 minutes. Armstrong assisted a couple of more times and could have put Croydon in the lead. However, there was a disappointing end to the game. With five minutes added on, Canterbury goalkeeper Jack Delo was sent off for an incident on an opponent. A free kick to Croydon was given, and Chin was also given a red card for another incident, before the referee blew the whistle for full time.
Croydon's last game before Christmas takes place at Croydon Sports Arena on Saturday 16 December when Chatham Town visit Albert Road. The first game after Christmas is the Croydon derby against AFC Croydon Athletic, again at the Arena, on 30 December. Both games kick off at 3PM.
