Departure of Liam Giles & John Gladwin.
Dear Trams,
“You will have seen the various responses from board members and fellow supporters to Liam’s announcement that he and John will be stepping away from 1st team management of Croydon FC at the end of the season but it is entirely fitting that the board comment to thank them both for their quite remarkable commitment to the club over the recent years and the sacrifices they have made.
“They have been unflinchingly loyal and unwaveringly committed to the Croydon FC cause, Liam with John’s support has brought stability and determination that was much needed during what have clearly been challenging times for the club.
“Liam especially, frequently working beyond his remit as 1st team manager to support the club and frankly keep the wheels turning during Covid. 100 games in charge is a remarkable achievement at any level and one of which they should be justly proud.
“During my limited time working with Liam and John, I have found them to be considered, open, honest and beyond anything total in their desire to see Croydon FC achieve its potential.
“We are sad to see them move away from the club, many of us consider them friends and several members of the board consider Liam and his father as an integral part of their initial involvement at Croydon. “However, we are respectful of Liam’s decision to draw breath and take some time, no doubt much of which will be spent with his young family and wish him all the very very best.
“Liam and John, the bar is always open, we will always have a beer in the pump for you, and of course you’ll always be a Tram!”
