CROYDON FC 2 – 1 TOOTING BEC
Croydon Fc secured a much-needed 3 points with an injury time winner from Errol Mundle clinching a hard- fought 2-1 victory over Tooting Bec. Walker provided the assist for Mundle to finish calmly sparking jubilant scenes behind the goal as the Trams put an end to their recent run of poor form.
Croydon took the lead in the minute 11 slightly against the run of play when Jerry Antwi played a lovely lofted pass into Jubril Adamson who controlled the ball well and finished neatly. Dillon Green in the Croydon goal was a commanding presence and he made several good stops as Tooting Bec applied more pressure as the half went on. Tooting Bec went close from a couple of corners late in the half but Croydon saw it out to go into the break a goal ahead.
14 minutes into the second half Tooting Bec scored an equaliser their overall play probably deserved through Alvin Turyatemba, following this setback Croydon responded positively with Adamson and David Green both having a couple of half-chances. It was an entertaining second half with both sides having further chances, Green again going close in the 74TH minute after a well worked team move and a minute later the Croydon keeper pulling off an excellent save to keep the scores level.
With a couple of minutes to go Green and Adamson were replaced by Walker and Noki. It was Croydon that were pushing strongest for a late winner and after going very close from a corner it appeared that the Trams might have to settle for a point, however all was not lost and three minutes into added time Walker supplied the key pass for Mundle to send the home fans into ecstasy.
