First and foremost, our thoughts are constantly with those directly affected by coronavirus, their families, our fantastic National Health Service staff, and all the fantastic volunteers supporting everyone.
You may have seen that we have decided to make our first home game of the season (whenever that is ) a NHS Day at Croydon FC, with free entry to all NHS staff. Furthermore we have offered free entry to all NHS staff for all home games games for the 2020/21 season. Liam Blencowe our Commercial Manager has also set up a just giving page entitled Donate a Pound for the NHS at
We have busy seeking to secure the future of the club against the backdrop of the lockdown and the most recent break-in. We now know that SCEFL have confirmed, following the decision of the FA Council that all records of the 2019/20 season are expunged, so we go again next season. We have had to postpone our planned AGM for this month due to the lockdown and we will re-arrange this as soon as we are able.
The go fund me page also set up by Liam Blencowe following our latest break-in to help with repairs and security to the clubhouse has raised a marvellous £845 at the time of writing it would be magnificent if we could get it to £1000 ! Thank you for your support on this.
The ongoing discussions with the Council have been extremely useful in our desire to make the clubhouse compound more secure and we await the installation of the new fence along our Rylands frontage. We have also submitted an application for funds to assist with improvements to CCTV and should we be successful this will go alongside the money raised by the above gofundme initiative to improve overall security and repairs.
We also have submitted an application for funds for materials to assist us with improvements to the clubhouse. This will be to decorate the kitchen area and also landscape the grass bank at the front of the clubhouse. We will need help in preparing the grass bank.
We are trying to put a plan together for the usual close season improvements to the clubhouse and more about this will follow, as it is difficult to programme anything whilst we remain in lockdown. Something many of you may not have seen is the new bin store gate and painting to the boundary wall alongside the Arena and our front ramp all done by our main sponsors Cemplas – a big thank you to Tony and Liam. We now need to continue the improvements to the front and the application as above will help us achieve this.
So as you can see whilst we are in lockdown there is a lot of endeavour going on behind the scenes. As ever we will keep you informed of progress of the various initiatives we are developing.
Thank you for your support as ever and your contributions to the club are very much appreciated by all. Should you have any ideas to support the club we would be delighted to hear from you.
Keep safe.
