Please find below a further update ( No 7 ) regarding the Club's 'Battle plan to survive Covid - 19'
The NHS and carers continue to do an amazing job and its pleasing to read about elements of the lockdown being eased. However, we hope you are all doing your bit by keeping safe and staying alert.
We were saddened to hear that our friend’s at the Arena, Croydon Harriers were the broken into last week. We hope the damage is limited but the disruption this causes is so disappointing - when will this mindless action by a few individuals stop?
We continue to plan for next season whenever that may start and following a virtual management board meeting on 6 May we can confirm that Liam Giles will be our 1st team manager for the restart and John Gladwin will be his assistant. Liam is already making plans to add to his backroom staff and planning his playing squad. I’m sure we all look forward to backing Liam and his team in the future. As soon as we have more details of Liam’s plans we will let you know.
The women’s team will be playing in the Greater London Football League next year moving to open age group and are recruiting for players ahead of next season.
The club were informed by SCEFL recently that the Referee Club Average Banding analysis for last season had put Croydon FC in Band A as scored by the referee’s. Well done everyone as respect for all involved in the game is so important and something the club takes seriously.
James Fotheringham and Liam Blencowe are working on updating our club website. Our corporate brochure is being updated to build on the success of attracting sponsorship to the club last season. The brochure will be available to be read on the website and will demonstrate our commitment to offering more links to our business community to be part of the resurgence of Croydon FC.
We are delighted to announce that Cemplas will be the club’s main sponsor for next season and we look forward to build on the very positive impact that they have had on the club.Thank you Tony and Liam Blencowe for your continued support and commitment.
Jason Casey together with Paul Davis and Richard Graham (social distancing observed) have been busy clearing the weeds around the club and watering the plants they have been planting. Thank you very much guys.
We plan to hold a club tidy weekend when it is safe to do so and the list of jobs is growing - we may also have to review the way the club operates within government and league guidelines as they become available to conform to new rules following Covid-19.
The GoFundme page (www.gofundme.com/f/croydon-fc-clubhouse-repairs-amp-security?) set up by Liam Blencowe remains open for those who wish to donate. Don't forget we are always happy to hear of ways of raising income for the club - so please get in touch with Liam Blencowe if you have any ideas.
Keep safe everyone
