MATCH REPORT 18th March – Croydon FC 3 – 1 Greenways FC
CROYDON FC 3 - 1 GREENWAYS FC For once, Croydon scored early in a match, and won in convincing style, courtesy of a well taken David Green hat-trick. The team looked well organised and committed, taking the well-deserved 3 points. The first attempt came from Andy Walker after a cross from Cameron Beckles but failed to reach the target. However, after 16 minutes Springer's cross to Green put the Trams in front. Talking of the first goal, Green said: "Their left back switched off, and I...

MATCH REPORT 11th March – Snodland 1 – 0 Croydon FC
SNODLAND 1 - 1 CROYDON FC Croydon did very well losing by a single goal against the division's leaders, and in the time Croydon were a man down, the Trams were able to keep a clean sheet. As well of this, eight of the squad were out with a virus, and despite this, the game had to go ahead on pain of a fine from the authorities. Snodland had a couple of early chances cleared before Croydon got a free kick from Henry Swann, who passed to Ollie Beauchamp whose shot hit the bottom of the...
MATCH REPORT 7th March – Meridian VP 1 – 1 Croydon FC
MERIDIAN VP 1 - 1 CROYDON FC What is it with the third minute? Meridian, who have faced an internal upheaval of late, charged at the visitors from the start, penning Trams back in their own half and not giving them time to draw breath. As is their wont, Croydon made their usual poor start failing to close down their hosts and clear their lines. And in the third minute, the ball was played to the right of Trams penalty area to be side-footed low across the face and inside the far upright....
MATCH REPORT 4th March – Croydon FC 2 – 1 Tooting Bec
CROYDON FC 2 - 1 TOOTING BEC Croydon Fc secured a much-needed 3 points with an injury time winner from Errol Mundle clinching a hard- fought 2-1 victory over Tooting Bec. Walker provided the assist for Mundle to finish calmly sparking jubilant scenes behind the goal as the Trams put an end to their recent run of poor form. Croydon took the lead in the minute 11 slightly against the run of play when Jerry Antwi played a lovely lofted pass into Jubril Adamson who controlled the ball well and...
MATCH REPORT 25th February – Faversham 2 – 0 Croydon FC
FAVERSHAM 2 - 0 CROYDON FC Croydon took a dozen minutes before their first shot on target. Jerry Antwi's cross went to David Green, whose pass to Cameron Beckles was stopped by the home custodian. Then, after Jordan Anderson headed out a corner, Faversham got their chance following a defensive mix up, and despite Tiwa Fujamade palming the ball out, Lee Pankhurst forced the ball into the net in the 23rd minute. Then two minutes later, the home team got another corner. A clearance from...
MATCH REPORT 23rd February – Lewisham Borough 3 – 0 Croydon FC
LEWISHAM BOROUGH 3 - 0 CROYDON FC Unfortunately, Trams were like Ladywell Arena’s floodlights, failing to shine all evening and they didn’t help themselves by conceding in the first three minutes, after Lewisham broke clear, forced a corner which wasn’t cleared and grabbed an early lead with a shot that squeezed inside the right upright. Buoyed by this success, Lewisham showed more hunger, chasing, harrying and not letting Trams settle on the ball. On eleven, Henry Swann placed a free-kick...
MATCH REPORTS 15th/18th February – London Senior Trophy QF & SF
CROYDON FC 3 - 1 JOLOF FC PETROCUB 1 - 1 CROYDON FC (PETROCUB WIN 4 -2 PENS) Feb 15th: The quarter final of the London Senior Trophy vs JOLOF at the Croydon Sports Arena went according to plan with a comfortable victory over the visitors who also had a player red-carded in the second half. JOLOF did pull one back early in the second half but substitute Eldi Baze put the result out of doubt...

MATCH REPORT 11th February – Rochester FC 1 – 1 Croydon FC
ROCHESTER UTD 1 - 1 CROYDON FC Manager Liam Giles decided to stick with an unchanged starting eleven after last week's win against SC Thamesmead. The first half was very evenly balanced with multiple chances for both sides but the match ultimately ended honours even which seemed like a fair result. The earliest chance for Croydon saw a corner hit the side netting, the next saw a free kick and Henry Swann's shot going over the crossbar. Subsequently, Croydon goalkeeper Tiwa Fujamade needed to...
MATCH REPORT 4th February – SC Thamesmead 1 – 3 Croydon FC
SC THAMESMEAD 1 - 3 CROYDON FC Despite being a goal down early on, the Trams remembered how to win, winning 3-1 after a fine performance. It took three minutes before a cross went to Fredrick Agyepong who put the home side in the lead. Goalkeeper Tiwa Fujamade made sure the lead wasn't doubled when, after a corner, he tipped the ball over the bar. The next corner was partly cleared by Croydon, whilst a free kick for SC Thamesmead, went over the crossbar. A Trams free kick from Hanif...
MATCH REPORT 28th January – Croydon FC 1 – 3 Meridian VP
CROYDON FC 1 - 3 MERIDIAN VP Croydon Football Club had invited students from Croydon College to the match, only to get an education on goalkeeping from Meridian's Frankie Leonard. The 19 year old, a former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper, made so many saves for the visitors that despite Croydon's attempts, the ball only went past him once. Croydon's goalkeeper Tiwa Fujamade, had already conceded a goal after four minutes. Tiwa did well to keep one ball out only for Julius...
MATCH REPORT 14th January – Forest Hill Park 2 – 1 Croydon FC
FOREST HILL PARK 2 - 1 CROYDON FC For the second Saturday running, Croydon took the lead in the first half, only to concede two goals in the second half and lose the points. With the heavy rain overnight, it was touch and go whether the game would go ahead, but it did. However, Lauris Chin, due to start the game, was replaced at the last minute for David Green, after an injury meant he was not fully fit. There were many chances for Croydon especially in the first half. After an early...
MATCH REPORT 7th January – Croydon FC 1 – 2 Larkfield & New Hythe
CROYDON FC 1 - 2 LARKFIELD & NEW HYTHE The first match of the year at Croydon Sports Arena saw a big crowd of 105 bid farewell to Croydon FC Life President and Matchday Secretary Andy Hillburn with a wreath laid on the centre circle and a minute's silence which was well observed before kick off.The heavens opened or much of the afternoon but poignantly a rainbow appeared over the Arena the moment the first goal was scored. The match started with Croydon defending. Tiwa...
MATCH REPORT 2nd January – Elmstead 2 – 3 Croydon FC
ELMSTEAD 2 - 3 CROYDON FC Match Secretary Andy Hillburn sadly passed last week but must have been smiling whilst looking down at Croydon's win at the London Hire Stadium. A man who loved his sport, he was a Croydon FC stalwart for many years but also had responsibilities with local rugby and cricket sides. He loved his non league football, and had not missed a Croydon match home and away for forty years. Numerous tributes have been paid to him from friends and other non league clubs...
