First Team

Croydon Amateurs FC was founded on 17th April 1953 to provide senior amateur football at the newly built Croydon Sports Arena and there has been a senior team in existence uninterrupted since then. Croydon FC currently play in the Southern Counties East Football League, First Division. (Link here). Matches are played on Saturday’s and Wednesday’s with training sessions weekly.

Croydon finished eighth in the league in the 2021/22 season with 60 points (18 wins, 6 draws, 14 losses), scoring 67 goals and conceding 62. In 2022/23 Croydon finished the season tenth in the (smaller) league with 44 points.

The current manager Liam Giles returned to Croydon FC in November after some time away at Epsom & Ewell, during which time Tyler Chambers ran the First Team. Liam’s passion for the club and a desire to complete “unfinished business” brought him back to complete the 2022/23 season. He completed over 100 matches in his prior tenure but remains focused on achieving promotion and continuing to build the club. These aims are key to strategy for the 2023/24 season.

Liam’s interview with TramsTV on his return to the club can be found here

Kinetic Academy

Croydon FC has been a multi-year supporter of the Kinetic Foundation. The charity’s flagship programme, Kinetic Academy is an inclusive post-16 Football Academy in partnership with the Harris Federation. The programme encourages every student to stay in education and complete a university recognised course, all whilst pursuing their football dreams.

This education environment, partnered with a structured football programme, provides each student with an invaluable structure to help them develop and ensures there is no compromise on educational potential.”
